Stork: An AI-Powered Drone Delivery Service
Description
I originally conceived this product as part of a job interview practicum. Over time, I found myself coming back to it and refining the ideas within. Eventually, some colleagues convinced me to pursue patents for some of the ideas. And I'm glad I did! I was awarded patents for two of the concepts I created as part of Stork:
- StorkBox (US-11713116-B1) This is a reimagining of the Amazon, Temu, Walmart and Target-tattooed cardboard perched on porches around the world. What if all of your eCommerce orders were delivered in a 100% recycled corrugated plastic box and secured with a locking mechanism that only you could open? There's a shortwave radio tracker embedded in the box as well, so the retailer and/or logistics provider can track it should it go missing. Sadly, while novel in concept, the packaging would likely be cost-prohibitive to produce in practice. So I assume the StorkBox will never see the light of day.
- PricePrime (US-11853957-B1): What if instead of blue and brown trucks dropping parcels on our porches, a buzzing drove of drones delivered our goods? And what if the prices you paid for delivery of said goods varied based on localized supply and demand in your area? That's what PricePrime is all about.
Note: PricePrime is actually 1 of 3 purpose-built AI that I expected would power Stork. You can read more about the other two "Primes" in the deck. And yes, their names were definitely inspired by transformative 80's robots.
